How They Help

How do your programs or services help the community?

Community Kitchen’s programs help to eliminate hunger in our community.

Program Description

Meals Program: Full breakfast and lunch meal served six days a week at two separate geographic locations.

Summer Meal Program: Community Kitchen is an Ohio Department of Education site for food service for children. A hot, nutritious breakfast and lunch are served to children ages 1-18. We are one of only a few summer meal sites that encourage parents and caregivers to eat with their children.

Family Dinner: A weekly Family Dinner is offered to families with children. In addition to the meal, educational and fun activities are provided by staff and volunteers with a goal of assisting caregivers to positively interact with their children.

Resources: Personal Care Packs (toiletry items) and bus passes for medical appointments are available on a limited basis. Staff and volunteers are also trained to assist clients with accessing other community resources such as food pantries, food stamps, disability services, and health resources. Other local providers such as the Columbus Health Department, Nationwide Children’s, and many others provide on-site resources.
